The season 24 finale of The Voice commenced on Monday, featuring each of the Top 5 finalists delivering both an up-tempo performance and a ballad.
Lila Forde quickly captured the hearts of fans from the start of her journey on The Voice season 24, emerging as the only finalist for Team John Legend and gaining widespread popularity.
Lila’s remarkable performance on The Voice marks a significant breakthrough. Undoubtedly, her future in the music industry seems promising with a long and successful career ahead.
Lila Hails From Seattle
Lila Forde came into this world as the daughter of Sean Forde and Molly Knight Forde in 1988.
Sean, born in 1965, celebrated his 58th birthday in December 2023. His Facebook profile indicates his employment at Amazon.com. He completed his education at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Northwestern University.
For three decades, Lila’s mother, Molly, has dedicated herself to being a professional pianist and educator, all while maintaining a deep commitment to spirituality and a regular meditation practice.
Renowned for her expertise as a duo pianist and chamber musician, Molly’s talents have led to live broadcasts on notable platforms such as Radio France, Antenne 2, NPR, and KING FM. After completing her studies under the late Gaby Casadesus in Paris, France, Molly returned to Seattle in 1994.
Achieving the prestigious Diplome de Virtuosite at the Schola Cantorum, Molly subsequently became a piano instructor there. She holds degrees in piano performance from both the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and the University of Washington. Notably, Molly has been an integral part of the Seattle Girl’s Choir faculty since 2006.
For the last two decades, her parents have served as meditation instructors, raised in a spiritually inclined household in Seattle. Additionally, they’ve taken pride in owning a meditation retreat center nestled in the heart of the Pacific Northwest for the past five years.
Lila Studied At USC Thornton School of Music
At USC Thornton School of Music, Lila focused on jazz voice studies and discovered a passion for songwriting. In the fall of 2022, she embarked on her inaugural European tour, showcasing original compositions as the opening act for Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Rachel Mazer.
Presently, Lila performs at exclusive venues like private events, farmers markets, and upscale hotels. Her debut album is currently in the recording phase, made possible by generous donations through her $16,000-raised Kickstarter campaign. Graduating from the University of Southern California in 2021, Lila quickly emerged as an early standout in the season, gaining recognition for her rich vocals and earning a coveted Four-Chair Turn early on, setting herself as a frontrunner.
Her journey to the Finals alongside finalists Ruby Leigh, Huntley, Jacquie Roar, and Mara Justine has been remarkable. Lila’s memorable Blind Audition, where she sang Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Home” while seated at a keyboard, instantly captured the audience’s attention, establishing her as a fan favorite. Despite having multiple Coach options after the Four-Chair Turn, she chose John Legend, a decision that aligned with her soulful style. Legend has consistently praised her mature musicality and forecasted a bright future for her career.
